Today has been a crazy day. I woke up at 8:00, which never happens. While I was thrilled to get to sleep in, the joy quickly turned to stress when I realized that my blood draw was scheduled at the clinic for 8:00!! I threw some clothes on, rushed Jaden into the car and off we went! I hate being late.
Once we got back, I busied myself cutting some fruit to put into the dehydrator and managed to get down a cup of coffee before the machine shut off and the rest of it was cold. Ick.
I finally changed into my running clothes and went downstairs for a quick 6 mile run. I watch American Idol while I run. It is a guilty pleasure, but not one that I feel overly guilty about. And I wasn't all that surprised that DiDi is no longer on the show. Idol was a sufficient distraction and I finished my 6 miles in under an hour. That bodes well for the race that I have next weekend.
Then I had to get Jaden in the car again for the trip to my mom's house to bury our beloved Brooklyn, who met a sad demise last weekend when she was hit by a car. Originally we were just going to throw her out with the trash, but I couldn't bare to think of that. And everyone who I talked to about it, and what I read online said that it isn't good for a child's development to see that an animal's life isn't valued after it dies. I was fortunate that there was already a hole dug by the pine trees at my mom's house. They were preparing for my aunt's cat, but Peppy is still holding on. I think it was good for Jaden to have a chance to say goodbye to Brooklyn. He got a little sad, but then said some very nice things.
Once we returned, I turned into a cleaning machine. Counters, stove, mirrors, dusting, shower, toilet.... We are having family over for Easter tomorrow and our house was a mess. It is definitely better now, but I'm going to let Tim do the vacuuming. I'm not allowed to because of my allergies.
I have been starving all day. I can't seem to stop eating. I hate when that happens. I am going to run some errands while Tim vacuums and then come back and hang with the boys.
